Salary: Up to £145,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits 

The Role

At Minna, Product and Engineering work closely together and our organization structure truly empowers our teams, allowing us to solve problems quickly and drive real results. We have a tight bond and collaborate daily on the most highly prioritized improvements. This is the most senior non exec engineering role within this 60 person company, which is backed by one of the most high profile FS institutions in the world among other investors. You will report directly to the Chief Product Officer, your peers will be the Directors of Marketing, Product, Data, and Integrations.

Minna creates the infrastructure connecting Subscription Merchants (e.g Netflix, Spotify and Amazon) to top-tier Financial Institutions (e.g Lloyds Bank, ING Belgium, Swedbank) to enable consumers to easily take action on their subscriptions, such as cancelling, pausing or changing plans.

The right person for this role has experience in technology scale-ups and has clear evidence of successful senior leadership in a complex environment with a track record of operating credibly at all levels in a fast-paced organization. You ideally bring fintech or Banking as a Service experience and are excited to take on a team of platform and product engineers located across Sweden, India and Romania.

Salary - Our salary range is up to £145k depending on the experience and suitability of the candidate.

What you’ll do

• Continuously innovate and explore new technologies to enhance our competitive edge and drive business growth.

• Build and lead a high-performing engineering team by hiring, mentoring, and providing guidance to engineers.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.

• Understand and navigate the complexities of a regulated environment to ensure compliance with bank-grade security standards, data privacy regulations, performance against SLA’s and industry best practices.

• Translate company and product strategy into relatable focus to the community of engineers.

• Lead designing operating models, develop hiring strategy and help teams to scale business growth utilizing lean and agile principles. Includes building and managing a distributed team with hubs in Sweden, India, and Romania.
• Manage the Software Engineers who design, implement, test, deploy and maintain software and platforms as part of the defined Software Development Lifecycle.

Required experience

• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience.

• Engineering or computer science degree and software engineer at heart.

• Deep technical expertise and evidence of how you will actively participate in the design, development, and troubleshooting of complex systems.

• A demonstrable track record of leading by example in terms of code quality, architecture, and best practices.

• Experience building and working with multiple agile software development teams across different locations in a remote / hybrid work environment.

• Strong proficiency in Java and/or Scala, experience in designing and building RESTful/REST APIs, distributed systems and microservices. Proficient in working with databases, including familiarity with NoSQL databases, and hosting systems in cloud environments.

• Track record of creating a performance culture with high standards and the right environment for people to grow, challenge themselves and step out of their comfort zone. Experience doing this during the scaling phase of a company’s growth is preferred.

Locations & Travel: Role is open in UK and Romania. Your teams will be distributed across Sweden, Romania and India. While Minna is largely hybrid, you will determine the right balance of travel to local offices and hub offices to build your team's performance culture that delivers outstanding outcomes!
